Year 11 Intervention Curriculum

Year 11 is a significant milestone in every student’s educational journey. To ensure students are fully prepared for the demands of GCSE examinations, we provide a dedicated Intervention Curriculum that offers targeted academic support, personalised guidance and structured opportunities to maximise achievement.

Intervention forms a compulsory part of the academy week and is carefully designed to provide students with the right support at the right time. Using assessment information, coursework progress, mock examination results and teacher recommendations, students are placed into intervention groups that address their individual needs and help them make the greatest possible progress.

Throughout the year, students benefit from a range of focused activities, including:

  • Small-group teaching with subject specialists
  • Targeted revision and knowledge retrieval
  • Exam practice and exam technique development
  • Coursework and portfolio support
  • Personalised feedback and guidance
  • Study skills and independent learning strategies

The intervention programme evolves throughout the academic year. Early support focuses on securing vocational qualifications and coursework outcomes, before moving towards intensive preparation for final GCSE examinations through revision, exam skills and confidence building.

Beyond the weekly intervention sessions, students have access to a comprehensive package of additional support, including tutor-time intervention, after-school revision sessions, holiday study programmes, Saturday School and revision support events for parents and carers.

Our aim is simple: to help every student develop the knowledge, resilience, confidence and self-belief needed to achieve their full potential. By working in partnership with students and families, we ensure that every young person is equipped with the skills and support required to approach their examinations with confidence and take their next steps successfully.

Focused. Prepared. Confident. Successful.

The Year 11 Intervention Curriculum is designed to help every student achieve their very best.
