Our Post-16 Enrichment Curriculum is designed to complement academic study by equipping students with the skills, experience and confidence needed to succeed beyond Sixth Form. We believe that education is about far more than qualifications; it is about preparing young people for university, apprenticeships, employment and life as independent, responsible adults.

As a compulsory part of the Sixth Form experience, the enrichment programme provides students with a structured journey through a range of opportunities that support personal development, career readiness and future success. Throughout Years 12 and 13, students take part in carefully planned experiences that develop key attributes such as leadership, communication, resilience, organisation, teamwork and independent thinking.

The programme is built around a series of enrichment pillars that guide students through their Post-16 journey, including:

• Developing successful study habits and making a confident transition into Sixth Form.
• Exploring personal development, citizenship and real-world issues.
• Investigating career pathways and future opportunities.
• Completing meaningful work experience placements.
• Taking on leadership and mentoring roles within the academy.

• Receiving targeted academic intervention and examination support.

A key feature of the programme is the integration of the Skills Builder Framework, helping students develop the essential employability and life skills that universities and employers value most. Through enrichment activities, students strengthen their communication, problem-solving, planning and teamwork skills while becoming confident, future-ready young adults.

The curriculum also provides valuable opportunities for students to engage with employers, gain workplace experience, support younger students through leadership roles and develop the independence needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive world.
