Year 7 -10 Enrichment

At Stanground Academy, we believe education extends far beyond the classroom. Our Enrichment Curriculum gives every student the opportunity to develop new skills, discover new interests, build confidence and create lasting memories through a wide range of exciting experiences.

Embedded within the academy week, enrichment provides all students in Years 7–10 with a dedicated hour each week to engage in purposeful activities that support their personal development, wellbeing and future aspirations.

Our programme is built around three key pillars:

  • Discover & Connect – Developing creativity, curiosity, leadership and practical skills.
  • Mind & Body – Promoting physical health, wellbeing, resilience and healthy lifestyles.
  • World & Culture – Exploring different cultures, languages, perspectives and communities.

Students can choose from a diverse range of activities including STEM projects, creative arts, sports, coding, enterprise, music, debating, mindfulness, languages, journalism and much more. The programme is designed to encourage students to pursue their interests while also challenging themselves to try something new.

In addition, students may choose from a range of optional Outreach activities, including experiences such as archery, climbing, skiing, watersports and technical theatre, delivered by specialist instructors.

Our enrichment programme is closely linked to the Skills Builder Framework, helping students develop essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and self-management. These are the skills that support success both in education and in the wider world.

By providing inclusive, high-quality opportunities for every student, we continue to support our vision of developing confident, respectful, resilient and active members of our community who embody our ASPIRE values.

Enrichment at Stanground Academy is not just about what students do – it is about who they become.
