Meet with your child’s form tutor

Form tutors from Years 7–13 will be available for appointments throughout the evening.

During your appointment, tutors will share key information about your child’s current progress and experience at the Academy. Discussions will include:

• Approach to Learning (ATL) grades across subjects
• Attendance
• Behaviour points
• Target grades
• Current progress and areas for development

The evening is designed to provide families with a clear overview of how students are progressing and to identify any areas where additional support or encouragement may be beneficial.

Speak to our wider Academy teams

A range of staff will also be available throughout the evening, giving parents and carers the opportunity to find out more about different aspects of Academy life.

This will include support and information relating to:

• Year 9 Options Process
• Enrichment
• Home learning support
• Curriculum and subject areas
• SEND support
• Safeguarding
• Year Teams
• Diversity, Equality and Inclusion

Revision guides, learning materials and calculators will also be available to purchase during the evening at discounted prices compared with those available online.

Booking your appointment

Appointments will be booked through Arbor and will be available at intervals between 3:30pm and 6:30pm.

Parents and carers should use their Arbor account or the Arbor Parent App to select an available appointment with their child’s form tutor.

Families with more than one child at the Academy will receive priority booking to help appointments be scheduled close together. Where multiple appointments are required, we recommend leaving approximately 10 minutes between appointments to allow time to move between rooms.

Optional parent workshops

We will also be running two optional 20-minute workshops throughout the evening, designed to provide parents and carers with practical strategies to support learning at home.

Supporting Young People with Literacy
A practical guide to supporting students in developing their literacy skills beyond traditional reading. This workshop is primarily aimed at families of students in Years 7–9.

Effective Revision Routines
Practical guidance for students who find revision challenging, with strategies for developing more effective and sustainable revision habits. This workshop is aimed primarily at students in examination years, particularly Years 11–13.

Workshops will begin at 3:30pm and run on the hour and half-hour throughout the evening. Workshop places should be booked separately from tutor appointments.

Tutor Evening is not only an opportunity to review progress, but also to strengthen the partnership between students, parents, carers and the Academy. By working together, we can ensure that every student receives the support, challenge and encouragement they need to continue progressing.
