Academy Colours
Through this initiative, we aim to inspire students to strive for excellence in all aspects of academy life. These awards will serve as a prestigious recognition of their hard work, dedication, and achievements. Junior Colours can be achieved from Year 7 onwards, Half Colours from Year 9 onwards, and Full Colours from Year 10 onwards. Students who are awarded any level of Colours will receive a certificate outlining the specific area of their achievement. Students who are awarded Full Colours will also have their names added to a new Academy Honours Board, celebrating their exceptional contributions.
Students can self-nominate or be nominated by staff, parents or carers. Further information will be shared on how students and parents/carers can nominate in due course. Junior and Half colours will be awarded by each Head of Year in termly assembly, and Full Colours are awarded by the Head of the Academy and/or the Executive Principal following the termly meetings of the colours' committee.
All Full Colour nominations will be assessed by the colours committee, which consists of a Head of Year, Curriculum Leader, Member of SLT and 2 members of the student leadership team.
Junior Colours will include badges, while Half and Full Colours will include ties for students in Years 7-11 and lanyards for post-16 students. We encourage all students to take pride in their efforts and look forward to celebrating their successes through this exciting programme.
