Enrichment Programme
What is the Enrichment Programme?
Starting in September 2026, our enrichment programme will offer students access to free activities across sports, arts, academic, leadership, and personal development sessions across three main pillars. Plus, there is an optional fourth pillar for chargeable on and off-site enrichment if students wish to take part in these activities.

-
Discover & Connect – Clubs and projects that encourage creativity, STEM, and collaboration.
-
Mind & Body – Activities focused on physical health, fitness, and mental wellbeing.
-
World & Culture – Opportunities to explore languages, global issues, and cultural experiences.
-
Outreach – Optional paid activities on and offsite

Changes to the Academy Week – Starting September 2026
As previously mentioned, there is a requirement for Stanground Academy to increase our school week by 25 minutes per week, every week. To deliver our vision, we are proposing the following changes:

Curriculum and Enrichment Structure
All year groups will continue to receive 25 one-hour lessons per week, plus the compulsory timetabled enrichment session, Thursdays 14:45 to 15:45,
Current Year 7 – 9 students:
For our current year 7 – 9 students, the full enrichment programme will be shared after the Easter holidays. This will include a detailed booklet outlining the enrichment activities available and a step-by-step guide to the selection process. Each student will be required to select two activities, plus two reserve choices from each pillar; Discover & Connect, Mind & Body, World & Culture. These choices will cover the programme for the academic year (one activity per half term). There are no fees associated with activities from these three main pillars.
Students will also have an opportunity to choose a paid activity (and a reserve choice) from the fourth pillar, Outreach. This pillar is optional – there is no requirement for an activity to be selected from this pillar.
Current Year 10 Students:
For our current Year 10 students (rising year 11, 2026/2027), a series of compulsory targeted intervention/revision sessions will be in place instead of the enrichment programme. This time will be dedicated to support GCSE preparation and examinations. Students will be directed to sessions by the Outcomes team using up to date performance data. Further details on the programme will be shared in due course.
Current Post 16 Students:
Our current Post 16 students (Year 12, rising Year 13 and in-coming Year 12), will be directed to a bespoke Post 16 support programme consisting of careers guidance and personal development opportunities, as well as dedicated intervention time to support A-Level (or equivalent) preparation and examinations. Further details on the programme will be shared in due course.
Further details on the enrichment programme will be shared in due course, including the choice of activities, booking procedures and interventions.
