Year 10 Temporary Move To Remote Learning - Friday 25 March 2022

Year 10 Temporary Move To Remote Learning

24 March 2022

Dear Parent/Carer

Re: Year 10 temporary move to remote learning on Friday 25 March 2022

I hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy.

Unfortunately, as a result of staff shortages due to illnesses, we have made the difficult decision for Year10 to move to remote learning on Friday 25 March 2022. Year 10 students are to not attend the Academy on this day.

The local area is also experiencing a shortage of supply teachers to cover staff who are unwell which sadly means we are unable to keep the Year 10 group open tomorrow.

Again, please be reassured that if you are receiving this letter, your child did not come into close proximity with any affected persons within their year group.

To ensure minimal disruption to learning, work will be set for students via Teams. Where no work has been set, please take this opportunity to complete any outstanding coursework. If your child is unable to access these provisions via any device (including a phone) please contact the House Team.

Additionally, if you are in receipt of free school meals, we will be in touch over the next couple of days to ensure we can get vouchers to you.If you are classed as a Key Worker/Vulnerable and require additional support please contact Ms Barry,

In the meantime, I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you of the steps that we can all take to reduce the risk of spreading infection. These simple measures are:

•washing your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds

•using hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available

•washing your hands as soon as you get home

•covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze

•putting used tissues in the bin immediately and washing your hands afterwards

We are continuing to monitor and review the situation and would like to thank you for your ongoing support during this time. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Academy.

Yours faithfully

Mr Carlile
